How To Apply
-
Prepare Your Skin
Gently exfoliate — and shave, if required — 24 hours before tanning to remove dead skin cells and create a smooth surface. Pay extra attention to dry areas like elbows, knees, ankles and wrists.
-
Moisturise Dry Areas
Apply a light moisturiser to particularly dry areas and let it absorb completely. Avoid a heavy layer of moisturiser immediately before tanning.
-
Apply Your Tan
Using a tanning mitt, apply in circular motions, working one section of the body at a time. Blend carefully to avoid streaks or missed areas.
Use less product on hands, feet, knees, elbows and ankles — these areas absorb more and can appear darker. Buff knuckles, toes and ankles with a body brush so product doesn't sit in the creases.
-
Allow Your Tan To Develop
Leave the tanner on for the development time shown on the product instructions. Avoid water, sweating and tight clothing during this time where possible.
-
Rinse & Moisturise
Once the development time has passed (see bottle for times), rinse gently with lukewarm water. Pat your skin dry rather than rubbing, then moisturise regularly to help maintain an even-looking tan.
Tips For The Best Results
- Always patch test a new product before full application.
- Apply in good lighting so you can see where the product has gone.
- Always use a tanning mitt. If that isn't possible, wash your hands thoroughly straight after application.
- Avoid shaving immediately after applying your tan — it can cause the colour to fade unevenly.
- Keep your skin moisturised so your tan fades gradually and evenly.
- Self-tanner does not protect your skin from UV rays. Apply sunscreen when you're in the sun.
